Daphne started writing songs at the piano as a teenager but left the piano, along with the dream, behind when she went to college. She was thinking about that lost dream while sitting in the sand on Baker Beach in San Francisco seventeen years later when she realized that maybe it wasn't too late - to write more songs, to pick up a new instrument, to chase dreams, to find her voice. She dipped a toe in the performing pool in 2003 then really submerged in late 2016 and has been writing and performing steadily ever since. As of late 2024, she's written over 100 songs and performed more than 800 times.
A lifelong seeker, Daphne draws inspiration from other singer-songwriters too numerous to mention, including those in the legendarily talented musical world of Marin County. Her style is *mostly* folky and her songs are *mostly* about alchemizing pain, reaching for love, and exploring the complexity of the human heart. Except when they're not. She's currently working on recording and hopes to have some of her growing catalogue online in 2025.
